Rod Laver…
That name brings to my mind drop dead gorgeous strokes.
We’re focusing on 2 elements of his topspin backhand drive.
The bent elbow prior to contact and the shoulder as it finishes.

The dreaded mid court no incoming pace forehand…
So many of work the point beuatifully eventually producing a weak shot from our opponent that just sits up there high and pretty around the middle of our court, and bang, we hit the thing against the back fence.
This is NOT an easy shot.
It takes a specific mindset and a focus on footwork through the shot as you make contact.

Developing “instincts” for when we play points can be a tangible process.
Your improvement needs 2 distinct areas of learning.
#1 is to get the right information for the mechanics of a specific stroke and/or strategy, and #2 is to develop the instincts that will allow that new stroke to come out on its own.
Manufacturing strokes is fine for practice, but when you play a match, manufacturing strokes will destroy your ability to play the game naturally.
